Trump invokes War of 1812 in testy call with Trudeau over tariffs
President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a testy phone call on May 25 2018 over new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration targeting steel and aluminum imports coming from Canada, including one moment during the conversation in which Trump made an erroneous historical reference
Ignoramus Trump doesn’t know anything about US history or international trade for the issues he references had nothing to do with either and more to do with satisfying his spitting vile to his audience of “unredeemables” claiming for the blood of those they perceive responsible for their ills.
His shrinking angry mobs seething with revenge believe what they are being told by Trump as unfair trade and disrespectful relationships with our allies. In this atmosphere of resentment Trump is reshuffling the cards not for the advantage of the country but for his own corrupted gain. Sufficient evidence is available about corrupted practices by his friends and family that can be coded into US law as new crimes as he uses current laws to blow his nose.
His path of destruction is not only affecting the environment in the country but around the world while the Russians and other US enemies encourage him to do more and provoke change the order of US hegemony that has kept world peace for 70 years after the last world war.
His election is only evidence of the level of insanity prevailing in the US which is as contagious for the rest of the world as a deadly virus. This is not a new event for the world has seen periods of insanity before but what is new this time is that a country that was supposed to be the end of history for such craziness is now the victim of the same vice that has affected mankind historical development back to the cave as we watch in real time, the roll back of American values and virtues. If we survive this period the US Constitution will have to be amended to corral executive power or a new compact will have to be written, one that will include modern times and modern issues not foreseen by the original writers of the document when they thought they had gotten out of Plato’s cave.
